Valve Corporation's latest monthly Steam Hardware & Software Survey for January 2024 reveals upward momentum for AMD processors, mobile graphics chips, and Windows 11 adoption.
AMD CPU share climbed 0.59% to hit 34.25% of Windows survey respondents. This extends AMD's strong gains over the past year attributed to its acclaimed Ryzen lineup.
Mobile GPUs also continue to grow, with chips like the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU increasing 0.56% to capture 2.52% share. The RTX 3060 Laptop GPU also rose 0.36% to 3.73%, showing the appeal of power-efficient designs.

Windows 11 64-bit gained 2.29% to reach 44.24% of participants, evidencing the ongoing transition from Windows 10.
On the processor speeds front, growth came from higher-clocked AMD chips above 3.7GHz, up 0.26% to 10.45%.
The survey provides an insightful gauge of the evolving hardware landscape for PC gaming. According to Valve, participation informs its future technology investments and Steam product plans.
