The official YouTube channel of PlayStation premiered the first State of Play 2024 video on January 31, 2024. The video, over 40 minutes long, featured updates and extended looks at upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 titles, including Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin.
The highlight of the event was the official announcement of Hideo Kojima's new game, "DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH," exclusively arriving on PlayStation®5 in 2025. The game follows Sam on a mission beyond the UCA, navigating a world filled with otherworldly enemies.
Returning stars Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker join newcomers Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and director George Miller in the cast. Longtime collaborator Yoji Shinkawa will direct character and mechanical design, with Ludvig Forssell and Kyle Cooper reprising their roles.
