FSR 3 Coming to Starfield According to Bethesda

Bethesda Game Studios recently announced via their official X account post that FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) will be coming to the Steam beta version of their highly anticipated game Starfield next week.

For those unfamiliar, FSR is AMD's upscaling technology that helps boost frame rates in games. The latest version, FSR 3, builds upon the previous FSR 2 release from last year by adding frame generation. As AMD states, this uses enhanced AMD Fluid Motion Frames and temporal data like motion vectors to generate extra high-quality frames, enabling up to 2x higher framerates which can be extremely beneficial for demanding gaming scenarios like 4K with maximum ray tracing enabled.

Starfield is a futuristic action RPG where players join a group of space explorers traversing the galaxy to find mysterious artifacts. Slated for release in 2023, this Bethesda title has been touted as one of their most ambitious games ever. The addition of FSR 3 will presumably help provide an even more immersive experience for PC gamers by further boosting performance and enabling higher resolutions and graphics settings.
