Diablo IV players, get ready for the Lunar Awakening event, a limited-time celebration running from February 6, 10 a.m., to February 20, 10 a.m. PST in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
Lunar Shrines scattered throughout Sanctuary are at the heart of this event, believed to be imbued with ancestral blessings. Activating these shrines will grant players a 50% bonus XP boost (multiplicative) and a 30% increase in movement speed across all in-game activities, all while earning Ancestors Favor reputation.
For a centralized experience, head to Ked Bardu's Northern section to meet Ying-Yue, the leader of the Lunar Night Market. Here, players can redeem Ancestor's Favor reputation for Lunar Renewal-themed rewards.
Identifiable by a distinctive dragon motif and a unique map icon, Lunar Shrines are strategically placed throughout Sanctuary. Engage in battles, explore dungeons, and accumulate Ancestors Favor reputation as you activate these celestial beacons.
Nightmare Dungeon enthusiasts will find additional intrigue, as Sigils with the Ancestor's Favor dungeon affix ensure exclusive Lunar Shrine spawns. Post-dungeon completion rewards include a 10% bonus Glyph XP, with the Ancestor's Favor Affix persisting beyond the event.

Beyond their symbolic significance, Lunar Shrines are augmented for the Lunar Awakening event, offering bonus effects to their regular powers. These effects include the chance to summon a holy bomb, a cluster bombardment with each explosion, increased attack speed, and more.
Upon activation, Lunar Shrines spawn Miserly spirits, offering an immediate opportunity to capitalize on the shrine's unique gameplay augmentation.
- Artillery Shrine – Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
- Channeling Shrine- Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
- Conduit Shrine – Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
- Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin, and 50 kills summons a second.
- Lethal Shrine – Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
- Protection Shrine – You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.
Lunar Awakening-themed Whisper bounties are also available, providing an additional avenue to earn Ancestors Favor reputation while appeasing the Tree of Whispers.
