ASUS Unleashes Up to 256GB DDR5 Memory Support on Intel 700, 600 Series Motherboards

TAIPEI, Taiwan, March 14, 2024 – ASUS has announced BIOS updates that enable support for up to 256GB of DDR5 memory on its Intel 700 and 600 series motherboards. With this enhancement, models featuring four DIMM slots can now support up to 256GB of memory, while those with two DIMM slots can support up to 128GB. This significant upgrade improves multitasking capabilities, ensuring smooth and seamless computing experiences.

Notably, AMD AM5 motherboards from ASUS do not require a BIOS update to enable support for up to 256GB of DDR5 memory modules, as they already offer this capability out of the box.

The BIOS updates can be accessed on the ASUS support pages for the eligible models, which include a comprehensive range of ROG, ProArt, Prime, TUF Gaming, and Pro series motherboards across the Intel 700 and 600 series platforms.

For the Intel 700 series, models such as the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE, ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO, ROG MAXIMUS Z790 FORMULA, ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI II, and others have received BIOS version 0904 or 1904, enabling the increased memory support.

Similarly, for the Intel 600 series, popular models like the ROG MAXIMUS Z690 EXTREME GLACIAL, ROG MAXIMUS Z690 EXTREME, ROG MAXIMUS Z690 FORMULA, and more have received BIOS version 3302 or 3202, unlocking the expanded memory capacity.
